Storrs Center · mixed-use · Dog Lane · Royce Cir · Town Square
As part of our Storrs, CT service area, Downtown Storrs customers get the same CT-licensed, fully-insured team on every job — led hands-on by owner Tyler — with our 10-year written workmanship guarantee. Storrs Center is a 2010s mixed-use development — retail and restaurant ground floor, residential lofts and offices above. The electrical complexity is shared services, vintage commercial panels feeding modern residential loads, and tenant fit-outs on a regular cadence.
Restaurant, retail, and office tenant fit-outs in Storrs Center mixed-use buildings. Sub-panels, dedicated circuits for kitchen equipment, sign electrical, EV-stub installs for parking-lot expansions. CT-licensed, fully insured, coordinate with property management and the town.
Storrs Center buildings frequently need sub-panel additions and meter separation when residential lofts above retail share a service with the commercial below. We pull permits, coordinate with Eversource, and execute the meter-separation work on a planned schedule.
Tesla Wall Connector and commercial Level 2 EV chargers for Storrs Center residents and parking-lot installs. Properly sized circuit, permitted, current Eversource incentive rules explained.
Faculty and graduate-student Storrs Center residents drive a steady stream of smart-home integration work: smart panels, smart lighting, smart-lock electrical, induction-range circuits, and EV-charger coordination via the home-energy management hub.
Everything you get when you call TJF Electric — zero hidden fees
Storrs Center buildings carry commercial-grade panels feeding both retail tenants below and residential lofts above. Adding modern residential loads (EV chargers, induction ranges, heat pumps) onto vintage commercial panel topology requires careful load analysis and often a sub-panel install rather than a service-side upgrade.
Storrs Center sees regular tenant turnover — typically 2-4 restaurants or retail tenants change per year. Each fit-out involves coordination with the property manager, the incoming tenant's design build team, the town building department, and Eversource for service-side changes. We handle the electrical scope end-to-end.
Storrs Center residents — faculty, graduate staff, professional families — drive demand for whole-home smart-electrical integration. Smart panels, smart lighting, EV-charger coordination, induction-range circuits, and home-energy management hubs all interact electrically and we plan the integrated install.
Storrs Center's pedestrian-priority street grid (Dog Lane, Royce Circle) requires careful service-vehicle scheduling. We work with property management to schedule larger jobs during off-peak hours when truck/equipment access doesn't conflict with restaurant patron traffic.

Downtown Storrs electrical work is split roughly 60/40 between tenant fit-outs (restaurants and retail) and residential-loft EV/smart-home/panel work. The town\’s pedestrian-priority street grid means service-vehicle scheduling is a planning constraint on every job — we coordinate truck access with property management before quoting, particularly for projects that need a bucket truck or larger gear staged outside the building.

Yes — we scope and install the circuits, lighting, and equipment power a new tenant needs, permitted and inspected.
We separate the service into per-tenant meters and panels so each space is billed and protected independently.
Where the building service allows, yes — we assess capacity and install a Level 2 charger with the proper permits.
Honest and fair. And they are very professional. You can't go wrong with this company!
