South Glastonbury · Hopewell · Eastbury · Route 2 · Route 17
Glastonbury is affluent, EV-heavy, and rich in Federal/Colonial-era homes. We're a planned-project specialist here — full rewires, EV installs, panel upgrades, and historic-home restoration where our owner-led model and 10-year guarantee make the drive worthwhile.
Glastonbury is one of CT's highest EV-adoption suburbs. Tesla Wall Connector, JuiceBox, ChargePoint, Wallbox — Level 2 chargers installed with permit, load calc, and current Eversource incentive guidance.
Historic South Glastonbury and Hopewell Federal/Colonial-era homes need careful rewiring — original plaster, hand-planed trim, period detail. We use minimum-impact fishing methods and attic-and-basement routing.
200A/400A modern panels for older Glastonbury homes and load-creep upgrades in newer subdivisions. Permitted, inspected, single-day swap.
Generac/Kohler standby installs for Glastonbury properties. Wooded eastern Glastonbury (Hebron Ave, Manchester Rd corridor) sees more storm-driven demand than the Route 2 commercial strip.
Hartford-commuter households layer EV, hot tub, mini-split, finished basement onto panels not sized for it. A 60A subpanel is cheaper than a service-side increase.
Burning smell, sparking outlet, lost power — Tyler answers personally. ~40-45 minutes from our Willington HQ to most Glastonbury addresses.
Everything you get when you call TJF Electric — zero hidden fees
Beyond the core service grid above, these are the work types we run most often for Glastonbury customers.
Hardwired Level 2 EV charger with multi-charger load sharing and a current Eversource incentive check.
Insurance-compliant K&T removal and rewiring of pre-1940 housing.
Lutron Caseta, GE Enbrighten, Nest, Ecobee. Neutral-wire retrofits.
Wafer and can LED installs. Kitchen, living room, basement, hallway.
Hartford-suburban competition, South Glastonbury historic stock, EV density, and our drive distance shape every Glastonbury job.
Glastonbury sits in the Hartford eastern-suburban belt: affluent, large lots, and EV-heavy. TJF is a strong fit for planned multi-hour work here: full rewires, EV installs, panel upgrades, and Federal-era home restoration, all run by one named CT-licensed master electrician and backed by a 10-year written workmanship guarantee.
South Glastonbury (Main St, Hopewell Rd, Tryon St area) carries pre-1850s Federal and Colonial homes — some of the oldest residential housing in eastern Hartford County. Working in these homes requires respect for original construction and coordination with the Glastonbury historic district commission for designated properties. We use surface raceway only as a last resort, route through attic/basement chases by default.
The Hebron Ave corridor and the side roads off Manchester Rd in eastern Glastonbury have heavier tree canopy than the central or western parts of town. Whole-home generator demand is structurally higher here. Properties along Buttonball, Diamond Lake area, and Birch Mountain Rd are on private well — well-pump generator coverage is a near-universal requirement.
Our Willington HQ is ~40-45 minutes from Glastonbury, depending on traffic on I-84 and Route 2. That makes us best for planned multi-hour work where the drive is a small fraction of total time. For 30-minute emergency calls where a Manchester- or Hartford-based electrician would be faster, we'll say so up front.

Roughly 40-45 minutes from our Willington HQ via I-84 and Route 2, depending on traffic. That makes us right for planned multi-hour work — full rewires, EV installs, panel upgrades, Federal-era restoration. For 30-minute emergency calls, a closer Manchester or Marlborough electrician is usually the better answer.
For Federal/Colonial-era homes we start with a free walk-through to scope priorities. Active K&T in finished living spaces is the priority; attic and basement K&T is lower priority if it's not heat-trapped. We pull the Glastonbury building permit, coordinate the inspector and (for designated historic-district properties) the historic commission, and route new homeruns through attic/basement chases to avoid disturbing plaster where possible. Full whole-house K&T replacement runs $12,000-$30,000+ depending on size, finish state, and accessibility.
Most Glastonbury Tesla Wall Connector installs run $800-$1,800 fully installed, depending on the distance from the panel to the install location and whether the panel has room for a new 60A breaker. Detached garage runs add cost. We handle the load calc, the Glastonbury permit, the install, the inspection, and walk you through current Eversource incentive eligibility in a single visit.
Most Glastonbury installs run $13,000-$18,000 fully installed for a 22-24kW unit — the higher end reflects longer gas-line runs typical on Glastonbury's larger lots plus simultaneous panel upgrades when needed. We quote the all-in installed price up front.
Tyler is a great guy and very trustworthy and knowledgeable at what he does
